“Angels”

“Angels”
For the Julie de Libran Autumn-Winter 2022/23 Couture Collection, the designer invited us into her Parisian apartment. The show was presented in the apartment and the courtyard.
The location proved to be the perfect backdrop for her designs.
The theme for the collection was inspired by the 1993 iconic angel editorial by the renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh. The haunting images of the top model Amber Valletta who was cast as an angel wandering like a lost soul through the cold dark streets of New York City. In the images, the angel looked pure and delicate dressed in white with feather wings. The contrast between the angel's lightness and the city's darkness left a strong impact on the designer, where today angels are very close to her heart.
Julie de Libran has always believed in sustainability and has for a long time embraced responsible production. She believes in conserving the environment and respecting the planet. Often her collections will be produced with remnants and leftover fabrics from luxury companies such as Lvmh or Kering. The luxurious fabrics inspire her to create her original designs, those unique one-of-a-kind garments that can not be repeated.
After a two seasons absence, she returned with her 2023 collection that had all the ingredients of French chic style. It was feminine, elegant and sensual.
As the models presented the dresses they had all the elements of handmade couture. Dresses that sparkle and shine with crystals or feathers. Lame jackets, fluid dresses and brocade jackets. Bra tops were embellished with crystals and low-waisted skirts.
There was something for everyone, especially those who wanted to go out and enjoy the celebration. Having fun being dressed up and yet at the same time maintaining that laid-back look. It was a timeless and cool collection dedicated to her Angels
