Chinese designer Caroline Hú delves into the profound relationship between life and death in her Spring-Summer 2025 collection, skillfully weaving emotions into each creation. This collection deeply reflects themes of love, loss, and the fleeting moments shared with loved ones. Through her romantic, avant-garde designs, Hú conveys a poignant artistry that resonates on an emotional level.

The collection features ethereal, voluminous dresses crafted from taffeta, printed silk organza, and fine stretch jersey, seamlessly blending Eastern and Western influences. It explores the dual nature of love—its breathtaking beauty and melancholic undertones—while capturing intimate connections and cherished memories. Original prints of large-scale illustrations and watercolours depicting flowers, mountains, and skies highlight the theme of light breaking through the darkness with vivid reds and sombre blues.

A standout collaboration with Sophie Hallette introduces intricate tulle lace appliqués, elevating the collection’s elegance. Striking details like pussy bows and ruffles transform each garment into wearable art, embodying the emotional depth of Hú’s creative vision.

On the runway, Hú crafted a dreamlike, poetic atmosphere enhanced by live dance performances from Emma Portner and Léo Handtschoewercke, adding a sense of fluidity and movement. Inspired by motion and volume, Hú incorporated new silhouettes featuring freeze-framed moments in movement, using boning to create ethereal, weightless shapes that seem to float in midair. The collection’s romantic details seem to capture fleeting, unintentional moments of beauty.

Continuing her collaboration with Adidas Originals, Hú reimagines the classic SL72 and Superstar sneakers, set for release in NOVEMBER 2024. She also partnered with Casetify to create a handcrafted ceramic pendant top, blending her fashion artistry with everyday accessories.

Each piece is a testament to Hú’s dedication to craftsmanship, with hand-sewn detailing, painterly textures, and expansive shapes merging fine art with fashion. Caroline Hú invites us into her world, where love intertwines with the complexities of life, leaving a lasting emotional imprint.
