LAKE COMOItalian Reverie

On the sapphire shores of Lake Como, where palatial villas stand like whispers of a romantic past and cypress trees mirror the stillness of the water, CHANEL Cruise 2025/2026 unfolded like a summer sonnet. In this cinematic setting, fashion met fantasy, and travel became poetry—stitched not only in fabric, but in feeling.

Set in a scene of splendour, the show unfolded at the legendary Villa d’Este, a lakeside estate where time seems to linger. As golden light slid across the surface of the water and guests sipped beneath sculpted gardens, CHANEL reimagined luxury not as opulence, but as intimacy—a world where elegance whispers and every detail carries weight. The collection, Viard’s final cruise vision, felt like a love letter to Italian ease and French refinement. There was a fluidity to it, a graceful surrender to nature and nostalgia. In every look, a story shimmered—of summers spent barefoot in linen, of handwritten postcards sent from balconies, of quiet mornings by the lake and glittering nights on terraced verandas.

With fabrics that float and colours that breathe, the collection unveiled a palette as soft as Como’s early light—pale pistachio knits, sun-faded yellows, blush tones, and breezy whites. Lightweight bouclé jackets were tossed over crocheted bralettes, flowing skirts swayed like garden curtains, and sheer silk dresses trailed behind with the weightlessness of daydreams.

Raffia sandals and woven totes brought texture and tactility, while delicate embroidery, glistening buttons, and ribbon trims added moments of restraint amidst the free-spirited silhouettes. Accessories like bejewelled minaudières and oversized sunglasses channelled a bygone glamour—the kind that never shouts, only glows.

It was the end of an era—and the start of a new chapter. Though the show was rich in serenity, it was also charged with emotion, marking Virginie Viard’s final bow before CHANEL’s next creative era. With subtlety and grace, she offered one last expression of what she does best: designing clothes that are lived in — not costumes, but companions. Her Como collection didn’t chase attention; it invited a gaze. In this moment between past and future, Cruise 2025/2026 felt timeless—a meditation on femininity, wanderlust, and quiet confidence. As models walked the manicured paths and terraces, the message was clear: true luxury is not about where you are, but how you feel.

A reverie in motion — CHANEL’s Cruise 2025/2026 wasn’t just a collection; it was an atmosphere. A breeze on sun-warmed skin. A glance across a garden. A sigh at sunset. Lake Como was the canvas, but the real masterpiece was the feeling: free, light, and infinite. Because at CHANEL, a journey is never just about the destination—it’s about what you carry with you long after. And this season, it’s a dream of Italy in June, stitched in silk and sunlight.
