WINK – WITH STARRY EYES

Walter Van Beirendonck transformed the runway into a vivid playground of imagination with his Spring/Summer 2026 show, WINK – WITH STARRY EYES. Bursting with colour, humour, and childlike wonder, the collection invited us to see the world once more through wide-eyed, starry lenses—where magic feels possible at every turn.

Walter Van Beirendonck once again defied convention with WINK – WITH STARRY EYES, a riotous celebration of fantasy, boldness, and eccentricity. Set against a dreamlike backdrop, the collection brimmed with the kind of curiosity and mischief found only in the most colourful imaginations.

Renowned for his fearless mix of wild patterns, exaggerated silhouettes, and global motifs, Van Beirendonck blurred the line between fashion, art, and playful provocation. The garments stretched expectations — oversized cuts, voluminous shapes, clashing hues, and unexpected textures wove together a tapestry of delightful contradiction.

This season spotlighted theatrical exaggeration — think gigantic pockets, sculptural cuffs, print-covered caps, and Stephen Jones’ iconic bowler hats given an irreverent twist. Painted coats, floral prints, and fabric-collaged looks resembled art-school masterpieces—messy, brilliant, and unapologetically expressive. Smocks and shirts came splashed, smudged, and stained in pure creative joy.

Photo-printed jackets, comically oversized sunglasses, and whimsical headwear added an extra wink of humour and surrealism to the show. Each piece—be it layered, frayed, or bursting with florals—echoed Van Beirendonck’s signature: a masterful clash of bold form and fantastical storytelling.

The result? A dazzling, unforgettable journey into a universe where innocence meets anarchy, and traditional dandyism gets gleefully upended. WINK – WITH STARRY EYES reminds us to dress with joy, dream without restraint, and always keep a sparkle in our gaze.
