QCEG: “Dear Crys It's so nice to see you again! Please, tell me, what's been happening in these last few years?”
CRYS: “Yes, I'm thrilled to be back in Paris. I took some time off to reflect on my life, pursue studies, and travel. I even had the opportunity to visit Spain and enrolled at the prestigious Berkley Institute of Music. It has been such a transformative experience, and I genuinely feel that I'm now in the right place with my voice and music. I couldn't be happier!”
QCEG: “That sounds like an incredible journey you've been on. So, what's the news? What can we expect from the new Cyrs?”
CRYS: “Well, I've been working tirelessly on my new album, and I'm excited to announce that a brand-new song is just about ready for release! It's going to be out very soon, possibly any day now.”
QCEG: “That's fantastic! I can't wait to hear it. Can you give us a hint about the theme or message behind the new song? I know your songs always have deep meaning.”
CRYS: “Absolutely! This new song is a heartfelt dedication to my beloved homeland, Beirut. It carries a powerful message close to my heart, and I'm eager to share it with the world.”
QCEG: “Can you share how arriving in Paris during the November 13, 2015, terrorist attack and filming yourself singing "Paris se relève" influenced your decision to pursue a singing career, and how the public response impacted you personally?”
CRYS: “Locked in my room, scared, I wrote and refused to let fear take over. I filmed myself singing "Paris se relève" and posted it on YouTube. The video became an anthem for the French public's reaction to the attacks, reaching over 150,000 views. Touchingly, my voice gave others courage. It led me to make a life-changing decision to pursue a singing career.”
QCEG: “When did you first discover your love for singing, and who has been your biggest idol or source of inspiration in the world of music?”
CRYS: “Music came to me early as a little girl, and singing became my joy and escape, allowing me to express my feelings. Since childhood, I've admired Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and Charles Aznavour. My father's love for Farouz also led to cherished hours of shared music. Additionally, I've been impressed by Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone; I felt their emotion, and it inspired me to express myself through music, giving me the confidence to do so.”
QCEG: “Is there any particular reason or aspect of these artists' music that has left a lasting impression on you?”
CRYS: “Yes, there are specific reasons why their music has left a lasting impression on me. Singing brings me immense joy and allows me to dream. I'm deeply moved by the words and lyrics, as they transport me to different emotions and places. Their music resonates with me on a profound level, and that's why I've been drawn to them since childhood.”
QCEG: “Wow, that's truly touching. Your lyrics are also very profound and meaningful. We can really feel your emotions through your voice and words; it is beautiful.”
CRYS: “Thank you! I'm finally able to fully express myself, and it feels just right. In 2009, I co-founded HUSHH and created our debut album "Jamais Perdus." We toured with it until 2017 when I landed the role of Maria Magdalena in the French musical "Jesus of Nazareth." Performing on a grand Parisian stage taught me invaluable lessons in acting, stage presence, and keeping up with the pace!
Following the musical, I secured my first solo contract in 2018, and since then, I've been working on my solo album”
QCEG: “Your energy and spirit are truly awe-inspiring, as if ten people reside within the courageous woman you are. Your dedication and courage in conveying heartfelt messages are remarkable. Could you please share some information about the charity work you're involved in and the causes you support?”
CRYS: “My time working for Radio France granted me an extraordinary opportunity to visit the refugee camp of Lusenda in the south of Congo. The experience deeply touched my soul, igniting a fierce determination within me. I felt compelled to create a choir for the young people there, teaching them several songs as a means to infuse their lives with joy and peace, if only for a fleeting moment. Music, in its essence, is an unparalleled source of unbridled joy. Its power to heal and uplift spirits is beyond compare, transcending all barriers and forging connections among people from diverse walks of life. Driven by my passion, I took the lead in forming a music group with a resolute purpose. Our mission was to visit the hospital wards of sick children at Necker Hospital in Paris. Every week, we poured our hearts into singing for these young souls and their parents. The moments we shared were not only heartwarming but also a source of deep comfort. In the midst of the hospital's harsh realities, our music provided a temporary escape, allowing the parents a much-needed respite.
For me, music is not just a passion; it is a calling and a catalyst for positive change. I believe in the transformative power of music, and I am committed to using it as a force for good, touching lives and leaving a lasting impact on those who hear its resounding message of hope and healing.”
QCEG: “Your passion for your homeland always shines through your music. I'm sure it's going to be a moving and memorable experience for your fans. Is there anything else you'd like to reveal about the upcoming album?”
CRYS: “Well, I've poured my heart and soul into this album, and each song reflects a unique chapter of my life's journey. I've experimented with new sounds and collaborated with incredible musicians, and I believe this collection of songs will take listeners on an emotional ride. I can't wait for everyone to experience it.”
QCEG: “It sounds like a masterpiece in the making! We'll be eagerly awaiting the album's release. Before we conclude, is there a message you'd like to convey to your fans and the audience who have been eagerly following your career?”
CRYS: “Absolutely! First of all, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my fans for their unwavering support throughout the years. Your love and encouragement have kept me going, and I'm excited to share this new chapter with you all. This album is a piece of my heart, and I hope it resonates with each and every one of you. Thank you for being with me on this journey, and I can't wait to see you at the shows!”

CRYS: “Thank you for having me! It's been a pleasure, and I'm truly grateful for this opportunity. Until next time!”
