Beneath the glass canopy of the Grand Palais Éphémère, Art Basel Paris 2025 came alive — a cathedral of contemporary expression where artists, collectors, and dreamers converged. Amid this pulse of energy and innovation, one presence remained steady and unmistakable: Andy Warhol.
Decades after reshaping our understanding of celebrity, culture, and commerce, Warhol’s work continues to resonate. Across the galleries, his silkscreens and paintings drew both the eye and the imagination, reaffirming the timelessness of his vision. From radiant Marilyns and shimmering Flowers to stark Skulls and the commanding Mao, each piece created an arresting bridge between past and present.
Warhol’s preoccupation with repetition, fame, and consumerism feels almost prophetic in today’s world of social media and relentless visual saturation. His work elevates the everyday into the extraordinary, turning mass culture into art, and art into a mirror held up to society. Collectors paused over his silkscreens, reflecting on how his critique of celebrity culture has morphed in an age of perpetual visibility. Meanwhile, emerging artists carried his legacy forward through digital reinterpretations, AI-generated imagery, and personal branding — contemporary explorations of image, identity, and influence inspired by Warhol’s fearless curiosity.
A series of highlights from his enduring oeuvre punctuated the fair: Galerie Mennour presented Mao; Galerie Lévy Gorvy D’Ayan exhibited Skulls; Galerie Van de Weghe showcased Flowers (1978); Galerie 1900_2000 featured Man Ray; and Galerie Skarstedt offered Marella Agnelli, shown alongside Botticelli’s Birth of Venus. Each work underscored Warhol’s lasting impact, affirming that Pop Art remains central to contemporary artistic discourse while continuing to inspire reinterpretation and debate.
Warhol’s presence at Art Basel Paris 2025 was neither loud nor theatrical, but constant, subtle, and unmistakable — a rhythmic undercurrent linking the glamour of commerce to the quiet awe of creation. His genius transcends time, trends, and context, transforming the ordinary into the iconic and shaping cultural imagination for generations to come.
In every frame, Andy Warhol remained a force: provocative, vital, and impossible to ignore.

ANDY WARHOL
AT ART BASEL PARIS 2025 : POP ART ICONS REIMAGINED
“Andy Warhol’s timeless vision shines at Art Basel Paris 2025, where iconic works bridge past and present in a vibrant celebration of Pop Art.”

“Photographing Andy Warhol's artworks and drawing inspiration
from his visual language was exhilarating.
His Pop Art universe — bold colours, repetition,
and iconic imagery — opened up a vast creative playground.”
“I loved engaging with these codes while subverting
them, just as Warhol himself did. Transforming a
portrait into a graphic, iconic object is
both liberating and joyful. This project
allowed me to revisit a rich artistic legacy
while infusing it with my own sensibility.”
