The Maroc Fashion Week (MFW) launched the first edition of its event at the Oriental Mandarin Hotel in Marrakesh. MFW has been organized on the initiative of Hind Joudar - president of the Oriental Fashion Show in collaboration with Marcel Thoma, the General Manager of Oriental Mandarin Hotel, Marakesh.
HIND JOUDAR & MARCEL THOMA
The mission of this exciting new international fashion platform is to promote and encourage Moroccan designers and to highlight international fashions which are inspired by the rich and diverse heritage of oriental influence. These shows are not only fashion events but are also about culture, innovation, and the promotion of Moroccan's image as a reference for creativity and aesthetics, and development abroad, as well as being an excellent opportunity to promote the country's culture, tourism and identity. Morocco is known for its generous hospitality and open attitude culture.

Held in the hotel's beautiful gardens which overlooked the pool beneath the bright blue sky of Marrakesh, the fashion shows were staged in a two-part fashion event that brought together Moroccan and international designers.

The opening of the fashion show also incorporated a red carpet event with distinguished celebrities, guests and high fashion profiles from Europe and the Middle East, including Leila Aziz, Dorra Zrouk, Farrah El Dibany, Mahira Abdelaziz and Hanady Hany Mehanna

The Friday events were reserved for the ready-to-wear collections and the Saturday events were reserved for the couture collections

The caftan, in its original or modified variants, is the country's most traditional garment. Centuries-old, it continues to be a key element in the Moroccan fashion industry.
