The Maroc Fashion Week (MFW) launched the first edition of its event at the Oriental Mandarin Hotel in Marrakesh.
MFW has been organized on the initiative of Hind Joudar - president of the Oriental Fashion Show in collaboration with Marcel Thoma, the General Manager of Oriental Mandarin Hotel, Marakesh.
The mission of this exciting new international fashion platform is to promote and encourage Moroccan designers and to highlight international fashions which are inspired by the rich and diverse heritage of oriental influence.
These shows are not only fashion events but are also about culture, innovation, and the promotion of Moroccan's image as a reference for creativity and aesthetics, and development abroad, as well as being an excellent opportunity to promote the country's culture, tourism and identity. Morocco is known for its generous hospitality and open attitude culture.
Held in the hotel's beautiful gardens which overlooked the pool beneath the bright blue sky of Marrakesh, the fashion shows were staged in a two-part fashion event that brought together Moroccan and international designers.
The opening of the fashion show also incorporated a red carpet event with distinguished celebrities, guests and high fashion profiles from Europe and the Middle East, including Leila Aziz, Dorra Zrouk, Farrah El Dibany, Mahira Abdelaziz and Hanady Hany Mehanna
The Friday events were reserved for the ready-to-wear collections and the Saturday events were reserved for the couture collections
The caftan, in its original or modified variants, is the country's most traditional garment. Centuries-old, it continues to be a key element in the Moroccan fashion industry.
Several designers unveiled their collections of caftans at the opening of this Maroc Fashion Week.

AMOR GUELLIL
Algeria


Amor Guellil opened the first edition of the Maroc Fashion Week with an impressive collection. The designer showcased his extravagant show with structured and sophisticated silhouettes. His collection included strong shoulders with bold looks, jackets with tapered puff-sleeves, black & white printed jackets and long coats. A couple of looks are accessorised with a bright colourful hats, glasses and scarfs.
RENA
Spain-Morocco


Rena’s fresh and practical 2022 collection featured tunics and short kaftans in floral prints made with silk and cotton.
Rena's designer, Khadija Chraibi designed modern minimal pieces, the mix and match styles that we all like to wear.
JK Klett
Czech Republic


The Czech creator, JK Klett presented an array of flattering soft, lightweight, and fluid dresses for her 2022 collection.
In a palette of soft pastel colours are her delicate silk with floral prints.
NUN
Morocco


The label Nun presented an interesting collection by the mixture of kaftan and western styles creating calamity jane encounters the Moroccan caftan.The use between the mixture of fabrics and colours was unique in style. A collection that is feminine modern and stylish.
ADDY VAN DEN KROMMENAKER
Netherlands


Addy Van Den Krommenacker has been designing fashion collections for over 20 years. Famous Dutch and international Celebrities were often seen on the red carpet in an Addy Van Den Krommenacker Couture dress. In The Netherlands, Addy is well known for dressing Dutch Royalties. It was in 2007, that he presented his collection at the Altamoda Haute Couture Fashion Week in Rome, Italy. And since then, he continued to present his creations across the globe.
HIND TAHIRI
Dubai

Hind Tahiri’s casual-chic beachwear for her 2022 collection certainly made a splash. The Dubai-based designer's ready-to-wear line featured loose-cut trendy caftans tunics with shorts or pants, light-weight cotton maxi dresses styled with hats or turbans and large matching beach bags which stand-out fabulousely in style.
ZOR
Morocco


Zahra Lamhaoul, known as Zor is of Maroccan and Spanish origins. Her feminine and fashionable creations have been selling all around the world.
Zor's caftans and evening wears are inspired by her mixed heritage and they are both stylish and innovative. She works with skilled artisans to produce her unique beading and embroidery techniques and is well-known for dressing celebrities.
ZENEB HAZIM
Italie


The Moroccan-born, Italian-based designer Zineb Hazim is certainly a new face to follow on the fashion circuit.
In 2021, she created the ZH-ZINEB HAZIM label.
She is inspired by her Marrocian heritage and her Muslim roots. Her collection is both strong and delicate. She incorporates traditional Islamic fashion with contemporary structures, giving the traditional clothing an innovative edge.
DIAMOND NOIR
Italy


Diamond Noir established itself through innovative and customised creations. Their savoir-faire has since conquered North Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
The brand has distinguished itself through original and tailor-made creations. For their ready-to-wear collection, they presented long beaded necklaces in turquoise and semi-precious stones. Also presented were delicate drop earrings and pendant sets, that were simple and elegant.
GEMY MAALOUF
Lebanon


Lebanese designer, Gemy Maalouf presented a stunning couture collection of ball gowns and celebrity evening wear. Her enchanting designs are refined, romantic, dazzling and sophisticated. They are a hugely popular choice for evening occasions.
The designer created exquisitely feminine and glamorous designs with delicate attention to detail and fabrics.
RENATA
Morocco


The caftan designer Souad Chraibi embraced versatility in her style.
Her latest collection, named 'Rena', was inspired by her mother's couture house.
The line is youthful and refreshing with beautiful, embroidered designs incorporating traditional heritage into something that is both easy to wear and suited to a contemporary and modern lifestyle.

Wafaa Idrissi glows with a passion for design that transmits through her fashion collections. Her seductive and original attitude inspired her to venture into new territories and to adapt to a certain creativity depending on her clients' personalities.
The caftan moves with the air and with the body. Wafaa's caftans are very feminine and timeless. She is inspired by women who pay attention to their physique and like to draw attention to themselves.
ZEYNEP ERDOGAN & TOPHILLS
TURKEY


Zeynep Erdogan is a very successful Turkish designer known for dressing Turkish celebrities and international celebrities.She creates gorgeous dresses with beautifully clean cut silhouettes with the finest of fabrics , Zeynep Erdogan designs ultra feminine gowns that have an old school glamorous vibe.The designer very often employs vintage details with an avant-garde twist.
For the Moroccan fashion week she teamed up with the jewelry house TOPHILLS.
TOPHILLS' jewel designer, Hanzade Topaloglu created an original jewelry collection in the Diamond Laboratory using synthetic diamond technology.
CALAMAIN
Morocco


Calamain is one of the most prestigious manufacturing labels in Morocco.
Calamain is known for its high standards and skilled craftsmanship, with more than 20 people employed in the ateliers who produce embroideries and ancient beadwork techniques to preserve all the richness of Moroccan heritage.
In 2020, Calamain launched its own fashion brand, which was presented at the Morroc Fashion Week collection.
The Calamain line showcased a series of dynamic textured garments. Couture for women and men no gender. Colourful embroidered jackets coupled up with colourful pants and shirts. Each item featured distinctive and intricately patterned motifs that highlighted the highest standards of craftsmanship. A fabulous show!
SALMA LAZRAK
Morocco


Designer Salma Lazrak produces caftans that are characterised by vibrant colours and noble materials. Salma unveiled her latest stylish collection with garments that are rich, luxurious, high quality and eye-catching. The brand strives for excellence and collaborates with highly skilled artisans to ensure exceptional craftsmanship.
For her show, she presented a majestic collection composed in two lines - one that is traditional and vintage and the other, pieces with modern aerial cuts and ancient embroidery. A sublime journey between East and West!
ZAZ
Morocco


Zahra Lahbabi from the House of ZAZ, arrived directly from Madrid To participate in the show.
She wanted to share her passion combining the traditional Maroccan craftsmanship and the rich heritage of Spanish culture to which she she presented a new interpretation of the Maroccan caftan. Her collection can be described in three elements - elegance, purity and fluidity. Her caftans were fresh, stylish, and easy to wear with soft pretty flowing fabrics and modern sensibility.
JITKA KLETT
TURKEY


For the finale performance of the Marroc Fashion Week, the Czech designer, Jitka Klett introduced her impressive couture line in a stunning runway performance. Her collection is chic and unique which included gowns and short dresses that are created using distinctive and luxurious fabrics.
The dresses are accessorised with bespoke headpieces.
A beautiful and dreamlike collection that gives one the impression of a fairy tale story.
